Draw IT! Week 1- Class Task

For our first Draw IT studio we learnt how to draw a one point perspective drawing. Sean and Matt explained the basic notions required to draw a one point perspective, this involves the concept of a vanishing point which is the place where receding lines converge.

One point perspective
After we finished our one point perspective drawing we were required to make photocopies of our sketch and render them. Rendering involved shading our drawing by playing around with light and shadow.

The aim of my renderings was to show where the sun entered my space and reflect through colours how the suns light would affect the shading.

Rendering using blue and green colored pencil
Rendering using red colored pencil

At first I was very confused with how the shadow and light could be represented, but as i continued experimenting I began to understand how to work the light and shadow.

.

Through my experimentation's I found out that pencil shavings gave a better result than just shading with the pencil. The savings gave a more rustic and natural looks. The spread in tone was also greater with the shavings
